Hingham Light Staff Join CTA Construction to Top Off New Facility
Hingham, Mass.: (PRWEB) July 10, 2015 -- Hingham Municipal Lighting Plant staff members recently joined general contractor CTA Construction for a topping off ceremony for the utility’s new office and maintenance facility. Following tradition, the staff took turns autographing the final structural beam later hoisted into place on the building frame.
When completed, the 24,000-square-foot, single-story building on Bare Cove Park Drive will include offices, vehicle storage, and a warehouse. On the roof, a photovoltaic system will convert sunlight into electricity. The $8 million project is slated for completion next spring.
“Placing the last piece of structural steel is an important milestone in a construction project. We now move to enclosing the facility and completing the interior,” said Patrick Tompkins, Principal at Waltham-based CTA Construction, online at http://www.ctaconstruction.com. “We look forward to the successful completion of this project which will provide Hingham Municipal Lighting Plant a facility that will serve the utility staff and residents of this community well.”
The building architect is Helene Karl Architects of Groton and the owner’s project manager is The Vertex Companies, Inc., located in Boston, both of whom CTA has worked with on other construction projects.
