HOSA-Future Health Professionals Celebrates 200,000 Members
Southlake, TX (PRWEB) March 11, 2016 -- HOSA-Future Health Professionals, the largest international organization for middle school, high school, and postsecondary/collegiate students with an interest in health professions, is excited to announce that it has reached its goal of 200,000 members in over 4,000 chapters for the 2015-2016 school year. HOSA has chapters in 48 U.S. states, Canada, Mexico, American Samoa, Puerto Rico, and at Department of Defense Education Activity schools on military bases in Italy and Germany.
HOSA has achieved an average of 9% growth every year for the last several years and has had 32 years of consecutive annual membership growth.
HOSA-Future Health Professionals continues to be a leading student organization that provides its membership with leadership opportunities, a robust health related competitive events program, a prestigious Public Health Leadership Seminar hosted by the Assistant Secretary of Preparedness and Response, nearly $500,000 in scholarship money from both its state associations and directly from HOSA Headquarters, networking and professional development, and exciting and innovate educational symposiums and industry tours at the International Leadership Conference and Washington Leadership Academy.
Since 1976, HOSA has served 2.5 million students interested in pursuing careers in health. HOSA is the vital pipeline for the health industry-an industry that is projected to add 5 million jobs between 2012 and 2022, growing faster than jobs across all other sectors. Health care continues to be an issue that is consistently at the forefront of headlines in the news and policy. HOSA is excited to celebrate this momentous occasion as well as its 40th Anniversary at the 2016 International Leadership Conference being held in Nashville, Tennessee June 22-25.
