HotWax Systems Donates E-commerce Technology to Support Sustainable, Successful Farming
Salt Lake City, Utah (PRWEB) April 18, 2016 -- Salt Lake City-based software company, HotWax Systems, announced today that it has leveraged its e-commerce technology to help support sustainable, toxin-free farming practices in India.
"Safe, healthy food should not be a luxury," said Mike Bates, CEO, HotWax Systems. "The ability to produce sustainable crops that are free of toxins in an affordable manner is one of the most important issues of our generation, both socially and environmentally."
The HotWax Systems team contributed time and resources to support Zero Budget Natural Farming (ZBNF ) education efforts. ZBNF is a holistic agriculture method that seeks to eliminate the need for farmers to purchase outside materials, such as toxic pesticides and commercially produced fertilizers, in order to yield bountiful and healthy crops. Instead, materials that are natural, biodegradable, and locally obtainable are used. This reduces costs to the farmer, results in pesticide-free crops, and protects farmland from becoming polluted with toxic chemicals.
A five-day state-level ZBNF training was recently held in India. Conference organizers needed assistance with publicizing the event to farmers across India, and helping attendees register.
In response, HotWax Systems built and donated a mobile-friendly platform where interested farmers could register for the event (https://zbnf.org.in). The portal provided easy access to registrant information, allowing event organizers to analyze registrant profiles, including geographical location. This empowered organizers to communicate with registrants quickly and easily.
Initially, 700 to 800 participants were expected. With the online registration portal in place1,806 people registered for the event. HotWax Systems has donated the portal to the ZBNF community to support its efforts in future educational events.
