House of Joy Shares the Happiness of Christmas With Vulnerable Group
(PRWEB) December 31, 2013 -- House of Joy is a nonprofit organization that has been working tirelessly for upliftment of the vulnerable groups of the society. The people included in this vulnerable group range from orphans, underprivileged children, disabled to elderly people who have suffered abuse and neglect. Recently, the organization announced a Christmas charity dinner event and encouraged the vulnerable group for participating in it. The main aim of this announcement was to spread joy among people who are separated from friends and relatives or have no one to care for and to provide them with moments of pure joy and happiness.
Held on 19th December, 2013, the event started at 7.30 pm and continued till 10.30 pm. The menu included loads of delicious food items and fun drinks. For making the event more memorable, the event organizers had arranged for games and giveaway activities. It can be added here that these foods and drinks were sponsored by some kind hearted patrons who make regular donations for House of Joy and also take a genuine interest in its activities and proceedings.
Located at Selangor, Malaysia, House of Joy has till now adopted 125 people. The organization looks after children aged 5 years and above. An interesting fact about House of Joy is that it does not only provide shelter to the weak or disadvantaged people. Rather, it also aims to train them so that they become independent and confident of their abilities. The organization believes that this way, the elderly or children can also earn dignity and respect from others, who often consider them as unproductive or a burden on society. Over the years, House of Joy has managed to establish 8 residential homes for the elderly and children and 5 training centers that include academy, TSR programs and home school.
