Chicago, IL (PRWEB) October 27, 2014 -- Chicago – The Human Resources Management Association of Chicago named Andrew P. Studdert, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, NES Rentals its 2014 Leader of the Year. Volunteer of the Year recipients are Maureen Conway, Conway+Associates and Martha Watt, The Cara Group. The annual Leader of the Year award program honors one Chicago-based business leader who has demonstrated the ability to execute leading-edge human capital practices while realizing business strategy success. Mr. Studdert was selected by the HRMAC Board of Directors for his consistent focus on creating a culture of trust and care for the 1,100 employees of NES Rentals. In addition, he is responsible for leading NES to significantly improved operational and financial performance during his tenure. Mr. Studdert’s platform for leadership throughout his career is based on a culture of safety that leads to engaged employees, high levels of customer satisfaction, operational efficiencies, and improved shareholder value.
“Being named HRMAC Leader of the Year is a wonderful recognition of the great company and team of employees we have become over the past 10 years. I am truly honored by the award,” noted Mr. Studdert.
“Mr. Studdert has been instrumental in creating a people-centered work environment that both encourages and inspires the employees while accomplishing critical business strategies,” noted Jeff Bucklew, CHRO, IDEX Corporation and Chair, HRMAC Board of Directors. “He exemplifies all that the Leader of the Year award represents,” he continued.
The Volunteer of the Year winners are selected based on long-term contributions to HRMAC and the profession. Both Ms. Conway and Ms. Watt have participated in multiple ways, contributing countless hours to the support of HRMAC.
Ms. Conway has served in several volunteer roles including leadership positions with the membership committee and is completing the second year of a two-year term as co-chair of the Transition Interest Group. During her tenure with the membership committee, she led the group to introduce innovations in our recruitment strategies. As Transition Chair, she collaborates with her committee to produce 10 programs annually for the benefit of our colleagues in transition.
Ms. Watt has participated in the planning activities for countless programs sponsored by the Human Resources Planning and Development and the North/Northwest Suburban Interest Groups. As a member of the Distance Learning Committee, she collaborated on content development and speaker development and served as program moderator in lead and support roles. Additionally, her active involvement in HRMAC has been instrumental in sponsorship and host services from her employer organizations.
“As engaged, active members and supporters of HRMAC, these distinguished colleagues have had a positive impact on the Association and its members. They embody the spirit, commitment and passion that this award seeks to recognize,” noted Mr. Bucklew.
