Dallas, TX (PRWEB) August 31, 2014 -- Texas hunting season is fast approaching. Dove hunters in the North and Central regions can take to the fields beginning Sept. 1, 2014, while those hunting in the Southern region must wait until Sept. 20, 2014. Archery season for deer isn't far behind, beginning on Sept. 27, 2014. Texas hunters should make sure they have all of the appropriate certifications in order to be legal before heading to the field.
Texas law requires hunters born after Sept. 1, 1971 to complete a hunter safety course. Hunters must be at least 9 years old to take the online course and to be certified to hunt in Texas. Students can complete their Texas hunter education certification in multiple ways: in person, online, or a combination of both. Students who want to take an in-person class can sign up for a traditional basic hunter education course. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department also holds enhanced hunter education classes and advanced hunter education classes, depending on the experience the student is looking for.
Students who want to take the online course in the comfort and convenience of their own home can sign up at http://www.hunter-ed.com. Those younger than 17 will need to take the online course and then complete their certification by attending and passing an in-person field day. Those 17 years of age and older can complete their Texas hunter education by passing the online course and printing their temporary hunter education certificate; permanent hunter education certificates are mailed within three to four weeks by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
The Texas online hunter-ed.com course teaches students important safety information via award-winning hunter safety videos that are designed to be fun to watch. These industry-leading videos cover safety topics such as safe zones-of-fire, firearm safety rules, hunting from tree stands, effectiveness of blaze orange and more. The course also is designed to be taken on any device, so as long as students have mobile reception they can complete the Texas hunter education course. The course pages are responsive, meaning they will automatically resize to fit any smartphone, tablet, e-reader, laptop or other computer. This way, students won't have to fumble around with their device to get the course to work properly; it simply works.
Don't wait until the last minute to take a course, sign up now.
