Hyatt Regency Boston Hotel's Room for Hope Raises $25,000 to Benefit Boston Children's Hospital
Boston, MA (PRWEB) December 23, 2013 -- Hyatt Regency Boston in downtown announces its $25,000 donation, the total amount raised from their dedicated guest room, Room for Hope, to Boston Children’s Hospital, the pediatric teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School. Through their partnership with the Room for Hope, Hyatt Regency Boston and Boston Children’s Hospital redesigned a hotel room that reflected the rich history and life-saving care of the region’s most reputable hospital. The 99% allergen free guest room features a world map highlighting over 100 countries where patients have originated, as well as framed artwork and bathroom tiles designed and decorated by Boston Children’s Hospital patients.
“I am thrilled to announce our Room for Hope has accomplished everything that we expected and more,” said Philip Stamm, General Manager, Hyatt Regency Boston. “Our associates and guests have helped us do what we strive to do—make a difference in the lives we touch every day, and to make a difference in the communities we live in. This will allow children to concentrate not only on getting well but also allow them to focus on enjoying their childhood.”
Hyatt Regency Boston guests were given the option to select the Room for Hope as an upgrade for an additional $45 a night knowing that the proceeds from their stay would benefit a child receiving care only a few miles away. Hyatt Regency Boston matched each upgrade fee donating a total of $90 per stay to Boston Children’s Hospital.
“This incredible gift will go toward the life-saving and life-giving programs that help the 25,000 patient admissions and 557,000 visits annually to our hospital,” said Charles Savicki, Associate Director, Corporate Initiatives, Children’s Hospital Trust. “Hyatt Regency Boston is a valued supporter of Boston Children’s Hospital and their generous donation reflects their devotion to providing the best medical care to our children and our communities.”
Donations for Boston Children’s Hospital were also gathered at guest check-in, in-room donation envelopes, an online giving opportunity, as well as a round-up the change program and 100% of the proceeds from a specialized dessert at Avenue One, the hotel’s on-property restaurant.
Hyatt Regency Boston will continue to support Boston Children’s Hospital, local charities and other initiatives throughout Boston.
