Igor, Inc. Announces Advanced Connected Lighting Solution
Johnston, IA (PRWEB) June 07, 2016 -- Igor, Inc. announced a major milestone with the “Rev. 5” iteration of their Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) intelligent lighting solution. Rev. 5 combines the proven technology built into Igor’s previous PoE products, such as its patented daisy chain capability, and presents it in a feature rich and flexible design.
"Igor's revolutionary new solution integrates the company's advanced PoE engineering expertise with close customer input to deliver the robust functionality and device control flexibility demanded by the marketplace," said Steve L’Heureux, CEO of Igor.
In the past, complexity of lighting control software and hardware have prevented widespread adoption of connected lighting solutions. Furthermore, highly flexible input-output (IO) connectivity is essential for any connected lighting system because there are no industry standards.
Igor’s new groundbreaking node design solves these problems: Igor incorporates a core network card with a customizable daughter card to cost-effectively address diverse device IO requirements. This allows end users to optimize Igor’s solution without requiring custom manufacturing of a device-specific PoE driver or costly over-engineering of a generic PoE light/device driver.
In addition, Igor’s integrated PoE solution is compatible with nearly every type of LED lighting fixture, light switch and sensor available on the market. Building owners are no longer confined to selecting proprietary lighting control solutions that constrain their choice of light fixtures. Furthermore, Igor’s solution can easily adapt as future market requirements change.
“Igor nodes can power and universally communicate with the LED marketplace. There is tremendous interest in a ubiquitous connected lighting solution such as Igor’s,” said Dwight Stewart, Founder and CTO of Igor.
Combining Igor’s new node design with its advanced lighting control software, means that there is now a truly non-proprietary ‘plug and play’ PoE solution available in the market that will work right out of the box. Igor’s Rev. 5 control software and inventive node design allows any lighting manufacturer or integrator to easily offer an open smart lighting system that can be controlled locally or remotely from a web interface. A powerful cloud analytics capability with customizable dashboards is also available with Rev. 5.
“Igor's Rev. 5 solution is the first to offer all of the critical elements essential for a successful connected lighting solution; (1) open architecture which is fixture agnostic, (2) powerful automated software tools for ease of installation and configuration, (3) data collection with advanced cloud analytics and (4) a breakthrough price point per fixture that delivers extraordinary value to the customer,” said L’Heureux.
