Industry Veteran John Dolan Appointed President and CEO of Craftsmen Industries
St. Charles, MO (PRWEB) November 05, 2013 -- Craftsmen Industries, a leader in fabrication resources for the marketing services industry, has announced the appointment of John Dolan as President and CEO effective October 24, 2013. As part of his employment agreement, Mr. Dolan will have an option to buy majority of the company over the next two years. Joe Helmsing, the founder of Craftsmen Industries, will continue as Chairman of the Board.
Mr. Dolan brings to Craftsmen Industries an impressive resume of experience in national and international marketing services. He will increase the scope of Craftsmen Industries fabrication resources to encompass, for the graphics business, important graphical brand standards for color management and quality control. Additionally, another area of concentration will be incorporating digital technologies into Craftsmen’s fabrication of marketing and Industrial displays.
“We’re fortunate to have such a proven and qualified successor as CEO,” said Joe Helmsing, the company’s Chairman. “John Dolan’s strong record of success, passion to win and extensive knowledge of our customers and business make him the ideal choice to lead Craftsmen Industries into the future.”
Helmsing added, “We welcome John to his new role. He is known for his tireless efforts working on behalf of customers, shareholders and employees. John Dolan is widely recognized and deeply respected, and we look forward to his contributions as President and CEO.”
A St. Louis native, Mr. Dolan founded his first independent agency in 1997, JC Dolan & Associates, a sports and event marketing agency. Previous international experience gave him the opportunity to expand in 2009 with the formation of his second company, Compass International, based out of Bologna, Italy. Publicis Groupe acquired both companies in 2002. John acted as Relay Sports & Events’ President & Chief Operating Officer, which involved growing the business with profitable organic revenue along with strategic acquisitions. Upon completion of his earn-out, Relay had expanded to five countries (UK, China, Mexico, Italy & France), produced four subsidiaries, and executed multiple acquisitions.
From 2007 to 2009 he served as the CEO of Milan, Italy based Jakala. His responsibilities included acquisition of US based marketing services companies. Jakala was merged with marketing services company, Mozaic, for which he was named President of The Mozaic Group in 2009. In addition to his responsibilities at Mozaic, for the past year Mr. Dolan has also served as COO to Coolfire Solutions, a mobile development company with SATCOM and situational awareness technologies and products within defense and enterprise channels. Both companies will continue to keep Mr. Dolan engaged in executive advisory roles.
“I was a loyal customer of Craftsmen when I owned JC Dolan & Associates and Relay Sports & Events, both experiential companies. I knew they were the very best at what they did in the industry,” noted Mr. Dolan. “In my new role I intend to broaden the range of services offered. Because of the breadth of capabilities and expertise the Craftsmen facility and employees posses we will grow our current market segments and go after some new ones,” added John Dolan.
