Ingram Adds Comprehensive Distribution to Russia With New Global Connect Location
Frankfurt, Germany (PRWEB) October 09, 2013 -- Ingram Content Group Inc., today announced it has expanded its distribution reach to Russia and the former Soviet Union with the launch of its third Global Connect alliance with EE Media, the largest media publishing and distribution group in the country.
“Our Global Connect network provides publishers with a comprehensive option to expand the reach of content to new global markets," said David Taylor, Senior Vice President, Content Acquisition International, Ingram Content Group Inc. "In today's immediate all-access world, publishers need solutions that ensure books are immediately available to people who want to buy them, and through Ingram's proven Global Connect offer, they have a single, integrated solution to do that globally."
Ingram’s alliance with EE Media gives publishers access to high-quality, print-on-demand book manufacturing and established relationships with the leaders in online, chain and independent booksellers and distributors in Russia and the former Soviet Union. Russia was selected as Ingram's most recent Global Connect location because of its high projected market growth and sales potential for customers.
"Working with Ingram, more than 3,000 retail points of sale in the region will have quick and easy access to a greater selection of English language books," stated Yevgeniy Khata, CEO, EE Media. "Where it typically took one to two months for English language books to reach consumers, now it will take 24 - 48 hours."
Mr. Khata said, "Ingram is a true leader in the content distribution space, and we are pleased to be a part of their Global Connect program for the Russian and former Soviet Union markets."
Ingram’s Global Connect program expands the reach of publisher’s physical content beyond Ingram’s current channels, which include Ingram-owned facilities in the U.S., U.K., Australia and France, to new markets through a network of select book manufacturing and distribution partners with established local retail relationships. Publishers gain access to new sales channels without the worry of inventory in market, importation and customs issues, and shipping and warehousing costs.
Denis Kotov, CEO of Bookvoed, one of the largest traditional book chains in Russia explained, "Currently, English language books are poorly represented in Russia, but even despite this, there is healthy demand. Through the work between EE Media and Ingram, we look forward to having access to a greater number of quality English books for the consumers we serve."
Books printed by EE Media and other Global Connect partners adhere to the same specifications and quality standards of Ingram’s Lightning Source®. Publishers that print and distribute books with Lightning Source will define markets for each title in the program. Lightning Source will maintain file integrity and security as well as reporting and payment remittance to publishers in the same manner as it does today.
Andrey Chechin, Commercial Director of Russia's prominent online store Ozon.ru added, "Consumption of foreign language books in Russia is growing steadily, and 70% of those books are in the English language. EE Media provides exceptional quality books and delivers them quickly. We look forward to seeing more English language best sellers through EE Media's relationship with Ingram. ”
Ingram's new Global Connect location in Russia joins other locations in Germany and Brazil.
