Israel Tennis Centers Foundation Holds Election to Fill Two Executive Board Positions
New York, NY (PRWEB) May 20, 2015 -- The Israel Tennis Centers Foundation announced the election of two members to its US Executive Board for two year terms. Phil Silber has been named the board’s new President and Michael Ritter has taken over the reins as Treasurer.
Mr. Silber comes to his new position following 18 years serving in a variety of capacities with the Israel Tennis Centers Foundation. A New York City native who now splits his time between Manhattan and Westport, CT, Mr. Silber is a successful entrepreneur, having owned his own business for 25 years, manufacturing and importing women’s apparel for major retailers across the country. He has also owned a computer distribution service company for the retail industry and is currently a partner in the firm Hacker Dolan and Silber.
Mr. Silber was on the Foundation Board of the Fashion Institute of Technology for over 20 years as well as Chairman of Leadership on the East Coast for the Israel Air Force Foundation.
“Through the years I have never lost touch with the Israel Tennis Centers and the great work they do for the children of Israel,” Mr. Silber said. “My election as President of the US Board is a culmination of my commitment to this most worthy cause.”
Mr. Silber completed his undergraduate degrees at FIT and NYU. He attended the Baruch MBA Program and completed the Owner President Management Program at the Harvard Business School. In addition to his commitment to the ITC, Mr. Silber is one of the founders of the Westport Arts Center and Westport Library. He is married with two daughters and four grandchildren.
The ITC US Board’s newest treasurer, Michael Ritter, is an innovative and strategic business executive. Mr. Ritter spent over 34 years at global professional services firm Ernst & Young (EY) as an audit partner, area advisory practice leader and, most recently, as Americas Director of Partner and Principal Matters. In 2005, Mr. Ritter was EY’s overall winner of the Rosemarie Meschi Award, the firm’s highest recognition for supporting the recruitment, retention, and advancement of women in business.

He is also Board Chair of the Perlman Music Program/Suncoast and Vice President of the Jewish Federation of Sarasota-Manatee (Florida). In addition, he serves on the Board of Trustees and Administrative Committee of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland, one of the largest not-for-profit organizations in the State of Ohio.
“It is a distinct honor and privilege to be associated with an organization of this type,” Mr. Ritter said in response to becoming the ITC’s US Board Treasurer. “It is truly a labor of love for me to know that the ITC teaches Israel’s young people the necessary life skills to become productive and happy adults.”
