Kalencom Introduces New Matte Coating for Diaper Bags
New Orleans, LA (PRWEB) February 11, 2014 -- Since its inception in 1971, Kalencom Infant Accessories (http://www.kalencom.com/index.php) has been widely known for its signature Laminated Buckle Bag. For their Spring 2014 collection, however, the Kalencom team is introducing a new matte coating to their repertoire to better meet the needs of today’s new moms.
“The diaper bag is the one baby accessory that isn’t just for Baby,” explained head designer, Monica Kalozdi. “While it must be practical, it’s also imperative that we recognize the diaper bag for its other role: a fashion statement for women.” Kalozdi went on to explain that the new matte coating is ahead of current fashion trends, and that she believes Kalencom will once again set the bar for diaper bag innovation.
Although the company’s laminated bags remain popular, Kalozdi cites her knowledge of fashion ebbs and flows (note: she’s been in the industry her entire adult life) as reason enough for the company to make a change. The main improvement that the matte coating brings to the diaper bag line is aesthetic. “I’m thrilled,” said Kalozdi. “You can’t even see the coating at all – it’s like it’s invisible.”
For those worried that the matte coating won’t hold up to spills the way the visible laminate coating does, fear not — Kalencom ensures customers that the new coating is just as, if not more, durable than its laminated counterpart.
Fans of the laminated style will be pleased to know that the company will still release two new prints as Laminated Buckle Bags this season. Alongside Kalencom’s brand new Nursing Cape and Double Duty Diaper Bag, which features an adjustable strap that allows the bag to be worn messenger-style or as a backpack, the new Buckle Bag prints are anticipated favorites for the upcoming season.
Kalozdi and her husband, Jeno – co-owners of The Kalencom Corporation – are both immigrants to the U.S. and had never heard the expression, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
“And anyway,” said Kalozdi, “I don’t agree with it. There is always room for innovation and improvement to our products. Always.”
