Kaye Anne Starosciak Wins Publix Georgia Marathon
Atlanta, Georgia (PRWEB) March 24, 2015 -- Kaye Anne Starosciak won the Publix Georgia Marathon yesterday with a time of 3:05:01. It was the ninth running of the 26.2 mile race, which winds through many of Atlanta's historic neighborhoods and ends in Centennial Olympic Park.
Winning a large race in her home state in tough weather conditions was special, but this marathon had a far more important objective for Starosciak. She ran as a Rally Athlete to support childhood cancer research and was able to raise nearly $3,000 for a cause she feels very strongly about. “For me, this race was about supporting very brave children and their families who face cancer across this country every day,” said Starosciak. “It’s always nice to win a race, but I’m much more proud of my friends and families members who contributed to the Foundation’s mission of beating childhood cancer.”
Next up for Starosciak is the Boston Marathon on April 20th, where she will again start the race with the world’s elite runners.
