Kevin St. Cyr Named Chair of Alvernia University’s Board
Reading, PA (PRWEB) October 01, 2015 -- Alvernia University has named Kevin St. Cyr, senior vice president for the Enterprise Segment of CommScope Inc., Richardson, Texas, as chairman of its board. In his role, St. Cyr will provide leadership for Alvernia’s 41-member Board of Trustees, working closely with university’s President Thomas F. Flynn to guide the institution’s strategic direction and future plans.

CommScope is a global leader in connectivity solutions for communication networks, providing infrastructure solutions for wireless, business enterprise, residential broadband and carrier wire line networks. In his position there, St. Cyr guides strategic planning for the Enterprise Segment, addressing opportunities and challenges to meet the company’s growth objectives worldwide. He also has responsibility for the Market, Product Management and Research & Development areas for the segment that serves business enterprises in intelligent building and/or data center applications.
Formerly president of Berk-Tek, New Holland, Pa., St. Cyr is a strong community advocate, having supported the United Way in various leadership roles throughout his career. He’s previously served on the board of directors for the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce & Industry and as founding chairman of Communications Cable & Connectivity Association. He has been an Alvernia trustee since 2003 and most recently served vice chair of the board.
St. Cyr continues to be an active supporter of the University of Lowell (UMASS-Lowell) where he earned a bachelor’s degree in plastics engineering and at Pennsylvania State University where he received a master’s degree in business administration. He and his wife Ellen are parents of two grown children.
