Knowledgeable Cybersecurity Experts in Dire Need; National Cyber League Ready to Help
Chevy Chase, Maryland (PRWEB) March 07, 2017 -- By 2020, the cybersecurity specialist market is expected to grow to $170 billion, up from the $75 billion in 2015. The Bureau of Labor Statistics also shows the demand for cybersecurity jobs is anticipated to increase by 53%in the next two years. Organizations however, are challenged to find individuals adequately prepared to handle the day-to-day cybersecurity operations. The National Cyber League (NCL) eases that problem by thoroughly testing the skills of students AND professionals.
NCL participants develop and demonstrate their cybersecurity knowledge and skills in virtual learning environments. These knowledge and skills are then validated in both individual and team play, where strengths and weaknesses are assessed and produced via the NCL Scouting Report, available to all eager employers looking for knowledgeable and educated cybersecurity workers that fit their company’s needs. New NCL players often get caught up in the excitement to beat their scores each game, while seasoned participants work to keep their skills sharp, season after season. Participants have raved about the gains they’ve made through NCL.
"I'm thankful for the NCL. I can see firsthand how much I have learned and how much more there is to learn,” said Robin, an NCL participant. “A few years ago in game two, I sat in front of my computer for several hours and couldn't answer a single question. This year [fall 2016], I got through 50 percent with an accuracy of over 80 percent. That makes me proud of my hard work to learn and grateful for the opportunity to realize what I've learned.”
The NCL also provides free materials including instructor syllabi mapped to NCL events, sample game challenges, recommended textbooks, and examples of how to integrate the NCL curriculum into a classroom setting.
NCL events occur throughout the year. Spring Season registration is open until March 25. For more information, visit nationalcyberleague.org.
