Layfield & Wallace Secures Verdict in Premises Liability Suit
Orange County, CA (PRWEB) February 25, 2015 -- Layfield & Wallace, APC started 2015 with good news by winning a premises liability case in Orange County at the Central Justice Center of Jong Suk Choi v. Benjamin Y. Park and Kay Kyungnam Park (Case number 30-2013-00637650-CU-PO-CJC.) On May 17th, 2011, Mr. Choi, an employee of Mr. and Mrs. Park, was installing hardwood floors for them as he had been asked to do, despite not having a license and Mr. and Mrs. Park not having worker’s compensation. In the process, Choi severed three fingers on his left hand, one was completely amputated while the other two were able to be reattached but with significant nerve damage. Layfield & Wallace alleged the Parks had been negligent in the workplace, while the Parks, represented by Bremer Whyte Brown & O’Meara, LLP, contended Mr. Park was not actually their employee and therefore were not obligated to have worker’s comp.
Robert T. Simon of the Simon Law Group, LLP joined by Philip J. Layfield of Layfield & Wallace and Mimi Ahn of Layfield & Wallace collectively brought home a $666,666.36 verdict for Mr. Choi on January 23rd, 2015, adding another win for Layfield & Wallace.
At Layfield & Wallace, it is impossible to be successful unless there is understanding in a client’s story. Layfield & Wallace pride’s itself by not acting like the stereotypical obnoxious lawyers many have experienced. They are the entrepreneurs of the law and they use their skills and resources to win no matter the opponent. Layfield & Wallace are the best of the best and they get better every day.
Layfield & Wallace’s personal injury division handles cases of all sizes and 95% of the time those cases are resolved without having to file a lawsuit. But when insurance companies don’t play fair, Layfield & Wallace’s trial division takes over the case and stack the deck in their favor by planning the battle before the other side even knows they are at war.
The trial division is comprised of skilled associates, paralegals, legal analysts, medical doctors, and investigators. They appear in courtrooms all over the country and handle approximately one jury trial every single month. They try more cases than 99% of all plaintiff law firms. The insurance companies know this and the defense lawyers understand the risks of going to trial against Layfield & Wallace. The reality is that Layfield & Wallace has the ability to obtain eight figure jury verdicts where most firms might lose the case.
