Leading Diversity Firm Calls for Courageous Leader Nominations
Portland, Oregon (PRWEB) August 17, 2015 -- WMFDP, a global diversity firm, announced today that it has opened the nomination process for the 2015 Courageous Leader Award. The Award acknowledges business leaders who demonstrate excellence in building inclusive workplace cultures. Nominations are accepted from either an employee or colleague from the leader’s organization. The nomination period closes September 14.
“WMFDP recognizes that it takes tremendous courage to challenge cultural norms –especially in the workplace,” said Bill Proudman, CEO of WMFDP. “This award celebrates those leaders who are willing to step out there to facilitate relationships that bring out the best in everyone.” Bill Proudman video on Courageous Leaders.
The Award is in step with the growing focus of global companies and leaders to energize their diversity initiatives. In a survey of 500 executives the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) revealed that at 60% of companies surveyed, the main advocates of workplace Diversity and Inclusion are the CEO and top management or the board of directors. WMFDP and other organizations are committed to recognizing these courageous leaders.
For a Courageous Leader Nomination to be considered, a business or community leader must demonstrate:
Passion for the diversity and inclusion journey – for themselves and for their organization
Commitment to WMFDP’s Eight Critical Leadership Skills
Success as a provocative influence in shifting mindsets, skill-building and behavior change (their own and that of others) while leading longer-term workplace culture change efforts
Consistency in delivering against diversity & inclusion goals and inspiring others to do the same
A track record of breaking down barriers in ways that have had a tangible, measurable impact on partnerships and the organization’s ability to demonstrate sustained focus on full inclusion.
“I was honored to receive this award as one of many employees and leaders who understands the business and personal value of creating an environment where everyone can be their best,” said Lee Tschanz, VP North America Sales, Services and Solutions for Rockwell Automation and winner of the 2013 Courageous Leader Award.
