LEAF College Savings Announces Special 529 College Savings Challenge in Celebration of Today's Date: 5-29
Mclean, VA (PRWEB) May 29, 2014 -- LEAF College Savings, the nation’s first web-based platform for automating the end-to-end process for employees to seamlessly contribute to college savings plans (known as 529 plans) and for employers to offer a match, announced a special promotion available to employers in celebration of today’s date: 5-29. For each organization who signs up to use the LEAF platform as a new employee benefit offering, LEAF will offer a $25 gift card that can be redeemed into any college savings plan to each employee who enrolls through LEAF before July 31st.
Once an employer rolls out the LEAF platform to its workforce, employees can opt to participate, choose a desired plan from any 529 plan offered in the U.S. and designate a dollar amount to contribute for regular payroll deduction. Employees have the freedom to start, stop or change their contribution at any time. And, employers can choose to offer a college savings match – similar in concept to employer matches to retirement plans – through the LEAF platform.
“LEAF makes offering a college education benefit fast, simple and paperless,” explains LEAF co-founder Chris Duffus. “For busy HR departments, LEAF removes the hassle and headache of the mountain of paper forms currently required if college savings benefits are offered to the workforce. Our intuitive interfaces and comprehensive reporting make set-up and management a breeze,” he added.
The Company’s web-based, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model further eliminates the challenge of installing and managing software for HR professionals.
Payroll deductions and optional employer matching funds are transferred to each employee's respective 529 college savings plan through LEAF’s proprietary, 529 funding network (patent pending) which ensures that the proceeds are FDIC-insured throughout the transaction lifecycle.
“LEAF’s online platform dramatically changes the paradigm for saving for college for the first-time,” says Josh Bixler, LEAF co-founder. “Not only does it increase the odds that an employee will actively fund a plan, it adds a unique dimension to an HR department’s talent retention programs and supports goals to be recognized as a "best place to work," he continued.
