Lexington Christian Academy athletics celebrates fall season
Lexington, MA (PRWEB) November 20, 2014 -- On Tuesday evening, November 18th, 2014, JV and Varsity fall athletes and their parents gathered in the Cross Worship and Performing Arts Center to celebrate the recently completed fall season. Tim Russell, Head of School, kicked off the ceremony with prayer and introduction of LCA’s new Athletic Director, Ryan Patrie ’03.
The ceremony honored all of the fall athletes and individual team and league awards were presented as well. The evening also featured the Class of 2015 Pep Rally video and Fall Athletics Slideshow produced by the LCA athletic booster club known as The Lions Club. The event concluded with recognizing and honoring out-going Athletic Director, Jeannine Cavallaro, for her three-plus years of service to the athletic department and the Academy.
This fall, Boys Varsity Soccer and Girls Varsity Soccer were both selected to the NEPSAC Class D and C tournaments respectively. The boys team was selected at the #5 seed and lost to the #4 seed Christian Heritage 1-0 in the Quarterfinals. The girls team was selected as the #3 seed and hosted #6 St. Luke’s School in the quarterfinals and won 4-0. The girls lost 1-0 in the semifinals to the #2 seed and eventual tournament champion, Pingree School.
The following student-athletes were selected to the Eastern Independent League All League teams:

FIELD HOCKEY: Helen Kwon ’15
BOYS SOCCER: Dara Faleye ’15, Matt Figucia ’15
GIRLS SOCCER: Caroline Niland ’15, Kesha Porter ’15, Shae Roys ’16, Courtney Teehan ’16
The following students received Honorable Mention recognition from the Eastern Independent League:
FIELD HOCKEY: Heather Baba ’15
BOYS SOCCER: Thomas Munch ’15, Walter Sharon ’17
GIRLS SOCCER: Amanda Namchuk ’15, Katie Braga ’16, Meaghan Hayes ’16
In addition to these league awards, Dara Faleye ’15 was selected to the NEPSAC Senior All Star team for Boys Soccer. Shae Roys ’16 and Kesha Porter ’15 were also selected to the Massachusetts All-State Prep School Girls soccer team. This team honors the top prep school soccer players in the state.
