Local Child Therapist Brings New Family Counseling Practice to Mechanicsville
MECHANICSVILLE, Va. (PRWEB) May 19, 2018 -- A new counseling practice is bringing quality patient care and innovative clinical approaches to Hanover County. Katy Webb is pleased to announce the grand opening of her new private practice, Brandycreek Family Counseling LLC in Mechanicsville.
Brandycreek Family Counseling provides individual therapy, marital therapy, child therapy and family therapy. To accommodate busy schedules, the practice offers appointments in the morning, afternoon, evening and on weekends. Teletherapy and Skype therapy options are available as well. Katy Webb, LCSW, CAS and Robin Hornstra, LCSW, RPT-S (Not Just Play LLC) are the primary clinicians at the practice. The clinicians at BFC are dedicated to helping patients find balance, enrichment, and connection in their lives.
Katy Webb’s extensive knowledge within the child and family counseling realm enables her to treat a variety of diagnoses including depression, anxiety, addiction, sport psychology, narcissistic personality disorder, fertility/miscarriage, and post-traumatic stress. Katy has been very successful in helping couples and families work through issues together to strengthen the bond they have and heal from problems that have entered their lives. She helps couples with communication, intimacy issues, and recovering from betrayals. Her specialty areas include autism spectrum disorder and divorce/co-parenting. Katy Webb works with children (ages 3-17), adults and senior citizens. In addition to traditional therapy, Webb provides career coaching, diagnostic services, co-parenting coaching and autism spectrum disorder therapies.
One of the most popular clinical services provided at BFC is the LifeMap Autism/Asperger’s Social Success Coaching Group. Katy Webb, Certified Autism Specialist, facilitates a social skills support group that meets every other week. LifeMap is a coaching program for kids, teens and young adults on the autism spectrum who are looking for extra support, life skills training and social skills coaching. The purpose of the group is to work on everyday social skills such as initiating and maintaining conversations, establishing friendships, and dealing with situations such as job interviews and dating. The groups are broken down by age group to allow for maximum social benefit. Katy Webb also facilitates support groups for survivors of narcissistic abuse, fertility challenges/infant loss and single mothers.
Katy Webb grew up in Columbia, MD and attended the University of Richmond to study psychology and neuroscience. She attended Virginia Commonwealth University to earn her Master’s Degree. Katy Webb worked in healthcare, the school system and family intervention programs prior to joining a group counseling practice. She always knew she wanted to open her own family-focused private practice so she could deliver more personalized and innovative clinical services.
