Local Vegan Blogger Offers Complimentary eBook on How To Host a Meatless Monday Event
Newport Beach, California (PRWEB) July 01, 2016 -- One year ago, when Long Beach, California's city council members approved a resolution to promote Meatless Mondays, certified vegan chef and food blogger Sandra Sellani of Forty-Year-Old Vegan (http://www.40YOV.com), responded by co-hosting the first Meatless Monday event at Long Beach's Gaslamp Restaurant (http://www.gaslamplongbeach.com). This year, to keep the momentum going, she is offering a free eBook for anyone who wants to host a similar event in their own communities. Sellani's eBook entitled, "Meatless Monday:A Guide for Hosting a Restaurant-Based Event" can be downloaded for free at http://40yov.com/ebook.
"I wanted to create a how-to guide to help others replicate the event in their communities without having to reinvent the wheel," said Sellani. Restaurant owners benefit because Mondays are often slow traffic nights for their venues. They can also showcase the talents of their chefs and test new menu items. The community benefits by having a fun, healthy and educational event the entire family can enjoy" says Sellani. Gaslamp owner Michael Neufeld was thrilled with the success of the event and wants to hold more in the future. "Sandra's Meatless Monday at the Gaslamp was a huge success," he recalls. "The food was delicious and Sandra shows how a vegan lifestyle is truly accessible to everyone."
Sellani adds, "In addition to the health benefits of plant-based eating, the environmental benefits are significant. According to the Water Education Foundation, producing one pound of beef requires roughly 2500 gallons of water - the same amount you would use if you took a seven-minute shower every day for six months. But it only takes 25 gallons of water to produce one pound of wheat."
Sellani hopes the eBook will make it easy for others to host events at restaurants in their respective communities. "You don't have to be an event planner to make this work," says Sellani. "You just need a desire to make a meaningful difference for your community and your planet."
The eBook is available for free at http://40yov.com/ebook
