LSP Technologies, Inc. Announces Laser Peening Equipment Market
Dublin, OH (PRWEB) November 05, 2013 -- LSP Technologies announces that it is offering a product line of high-pulse-rate, high power laser peening systems, ranging from 20 watts to more than 400 watts. Available to OEMs, MROs, and all manufacturers for the first time, these laser peening systems can be customized to meet specific manufacturing requirements.
“LSP Technologies’ experience designing, fabricating, installing, and using laser peening equipment goes back into the 1980s when this same team built the world’s first industrial laser peening system at Battelle Columbus Labs,” said Jeff Dulaney, President and CEO of LSP Technologies. “We’re proud to still be at the forefront of this industry, delivering high quality laser peening services and now turn-key laser peening systems to meet the demands of any business.”
LSP Technologies is the only company in the world selling, installing, and integrating state-of-the-art laser peening equipment into the facilities of its customers. Equipment sales include an IP license to LSP Technologies’ vast intellectual property portfolio, customer training, ongoing equipment service, and long-term technical support.
During the next year, LSP Technologies will be installing the highest power laser peening equipment in the world at its facility in Dublin, Ohio. This equipment will be used to increase production capacity and to create an equipment showcase for customers to witness the system in operation. “The ability of companies to integrate laser peening equipment directly into their own facilities will greatly improve their manufacturing efficiencies and reduce cost,” said Dulaney, “which will add significant value for their customers. We’re taking orders now for delivery in 2014!”
About Laser Peening:
Laser peening significantly improves fatigue resistance and fatigue strength, increasing the service life of parts by 2 to 20 times. Laser peening has saved OEMs and their customers tens of millions of dollars in maintenance and replacement costs. The benefit laser peening provides also delivers a competitive advantage to manufacturers and end users. Industries benefiting from laser peening as a value-adding process include: power generation (gas turbines, steam turbines, diesel engines, wind power engines); transportation (aircraft, ship, train, engine components); medical (replacement joints, implants, and surgical utensils); and manufacturing (tooling, presses, rolls, mills). All industries with metal component fatigue could benefit from laser peening, like oil and gas, pipeline, mining, rail and light rail, heavy equipment, automotive and, shipping and maritime.
About LSP Technologies:
LSP Technologies is an innovative high tech manufacturing company specializing in the application of high power lasers to improve the endurance, performance, and safety of manufactured components across a broad array of market sectors. LSP Technologies was founded in 1995 and is the premier provider of laser peening equipment and services in the United States. LSP Technologies helped GE Aviation establish an in-house laser peening capability in the 1990s, and then worked with the US Air Force to establish LSP Technologies as an independent laser peening supplier for the rest of industry. LSP Technologies has laser peened tens-of-thousands of components for OEMs in the aerospace and power generation industries. In 2012 LSP Technologies delivered to the Boeing Company the first Laser Bond Inspection NDT laser system that interrogates an adhesive bond’s strength.
