Lumension Delivers New Advanced Persistent Security Offers
(PRWEB) February 24, 2014 -- Endpoint security threats have become more difficult to stop and mitigate over the last two years, according to 71% of respondents to the fifth annual State of the Endpoint study by the Ponemon Institute. Playing a role in that difficulty is defending against advanced persistent threats, APTs, in which 65% said they fell victim or were unsure in the last year. Lumension®, a global leader in endpoint management and security, today announced several major advancements to the Lumension® Endpoint Management and Security Suite, L.E.M.S.S. that enhances advanced persistent security for the enterprise.
At this week’s RSA Conference, Lumension will introduce a new solution offering framework and pricing structure designed to help companies quickly deploy a defense-in-depth solution strategy at the endpoint. Under the campaign, 'One Suite Solution. One Suite Price.' the company will no longer market individual core application technologies, but will instead offer two primary endpoint management and security solutions with multiple technologies integrated on one platform architecture.
L.E.M.S.S. is ideal for businesses that seek greater security, improved visibility and increased operational efficiencies at the endpoint. This solution includes patch management, anti-virus, device control, content wizard and power management. L.E.M.S.S. Enterprise offers added protection against targeted attacks and includes patch management, anti-virus, application control, device control, power management, security configuration management and mobile device management. Both are available as subscription and perpetual licenses.
“Let’s be real – there are many significant threats today’s organization must defend against,” said C. Edward Brice, senior vice president, worldwide marketing, Lumension. “The most pragmatic way for an enterprise to quickly shore up defenses against targeted threats and reduce complexity is to deploy a defense-in-depth solution strategy at the endpoint. L.E.M.S.S. does just that, and, with our new solution offering framework, we’ve essentially implemented the easy button for our customers to quickly move forward.”
In addition to complexity concerns, the number one risk factor for endpoints is increasing numbers of mobile devices and the corporate data that resides on them. To help customers manage this, Lumension will add mobile device management (MDM) functionality to L.E.M.S.S. in the 2nd half of 2014. The company will preview the technology at the RSA Conference.
With the integration of MDM, L.E.M.S.S. enables today’s enterprise to support Bring Your Own Device (B.Y.O.D.) initiatives while still providing IT with a means to ensure more effective, efficient device management and secure mobile productivity through integrated management and policy enforcement.
“As cybercriminals move from traditional malware to targeted, advanced persistent threats, the security industry must evolve its approach in how it equips IT security professionals in the fight against those threats,” said Brice. “Lumension has made a number of significant improvements to the L.E.M.S.S. platform and in how we go-to-market in an effort to address this shift and lead the industry in stepping beyond traditional signature-based defenses as a stand-alone endpoint security defense.”
Lumension will demonstrate these capabilities and more at the RSA Conference in booth 1009 in the South Hall.
