MailChannels Appoints New Directors and Strategic Advisor

The new board appointees bring decades of combined experience as founders and executives of top-performing tech companies.
The new appointees to the company’s board are Rob Scott, Howard Adam, and Stas Bekman. Seasoned web hosting industry executive and Inc.com 30 Under 30 award recipient Douglas Hanna is now a strategic advisor to the company.

Advisor Douglas Hanna is the founder and CEO of Help.com, a provider of cloud-based customer service software. Before Help.com, he was the CEO of web hosting company A Small Orange, which was acquired by Endurance International Group in 2012. Under his leadership, A Small Orange grew from 9 to 90 employees and revenue increased by more than 1,200 percent. Before that, Douglas ran customer service strategy and operations at HostGator, one of the world’s largest web hosting companies. He has a BA in sociology from Duke University.
Rob Scott has more than 20 years of experience in technology sales and has established multiple sales channels during his career. Rob has built winning sales teams at seven companies, ranging from startups to multi-billion dollar firms such as Business Objects (acquired by SAP). His expertise lies in connecting people to establish a high-performing culture that encourages personal development, innovation and personal success. As a member of the Vancouver Board of Trade, Rob is a mentor in the Leaders of Tomorrow program. Rob has BS in economics from McMaster University.
Howard Adam has a background and education in engineering, and a passion for effective and efficient management systems. He has managed large civil engineering projects, a division of a mining equipment company, a joint venture company, and several technology startups. In 2009, Howard founded SustaiNet Software International Inc. to provide efficient Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) stakeholder information management solutions for large organizations. Today the company is Canada’s leading provider of this technology in the energy, mining, oil and gas industries. Howard has a MBA, BSc and BComm degrees, a diploma in International Trade and a certificate in Public Participation (IAP2).
Stas Bekman is an entrepreneur, investor, software architect, consultant, speaker, and technical author. He began his career at Intel, Inc. and worked on the Apache Software Foundation mod_perl project from 1998 to 2007. During that period he published two books: Practical mod_perl (with O'Reilly Media) in 2003, followed by mod_perl 2 User's Guide in 2007. After helping to start MailChannels, Stas built a successful Web publishing business. He has a BSc in electrical engineering from Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.
