Manchester, England (PRWEB UK) 26 March 2014 -- Nawaab Indian restaurant and banqueting suite in Manchester played host this week to a group of very special diners from a local school. On Tuesday 18 March, 16 students from The Birches Specialist Support Primary School in Manchester, Didsbury were treated to a complimentary meal courtesy of Nawaab’s skilled team of chefs.
Accompanied by members of staff, the schoolchildren were invited to eat at Nawaab as part of the restaurant’s ongoing outreach to the local community. The management is hoping that their actions will encourage other local business owners to make similar contributions to the community.
The children were treated to an all-you-can-eat Indian and Western style buffet and were entertained by local entertainer Ballooniversal who tirelessly crafted octopuses, monkey hats and endless other bright and brilliant balloon shapes.
Nawaab owner, Mr Malik, enthused: “It was great seeing all the children have such a good time with us. Everyone at Nawaab loved having them over, chatting to them and having a laugh together. We hope that this shows that children with specialist needs shouldn’t be kept out of sight and out of the mainstream – we can learn a lot from them and we can have an awful lot of fun helping them. Hopefully, more businesses, both local and further afield, will be encouraged to embrace all aspects of their communities and off help to those who need it.”
The Birches Specialist Support Primary School Deputy Headteacher, Lynne Whitbread, was overjoyed with the occasion:
