Maryland Recovery Offers Innovative Addiction Treatment
Bel Air, Maryland (PRWEB) September 08, 2014 -- Maryland Recovery announces its unique Residential Outpatient program located in Bel Air, Hartford County, Maryland. Servicing clientele who wish to recover from alcohol and drug addictions and the mental health issues that can co-occur with the dependencies, the program at Maryland Recovery is flexible, running a minimum of ninety days in length. Its ultimate goal is always a full transition back into daily life when the individual is ready.
The program is called "Residential Outpatient" because individuals live in one of eight homes at night and attend treatment programs during the day at one of Maryland Recovery's fully licensed addiction treatment facilities. The idea is to separate, and yet integrate, everyday living and effective substance abuse treatment.
The recovering client goes through three phases of treatment, each lasting approximately one month for ninety intensive days total. However, the addiction treatment at Maryland Recovery provides the necessary flexibility to give the individual the time he or she truly requires to make a full recovery and transition back to daily life.
Phase one is the Partial Hospitalization Program or PHP. This twenty-eight day program is comprised of mandatory and intensive clinical treatment. For five hours a day, seven days a week, the individual receives addiction treatment and individualized counseling. The client returns to the Residential Outpatient facility in the evening, living in a safe and supervised community environment.
Phase two is called Intensive Outpatient Treatment where individuals continue to live in community with other people in the program. Group and individual therapies are employed with a strong emphasis on integration back into the world at large.
Phase three is Extended Care. This phase helps people create new and healthy habits within the framework of an alcohol and drug free way of life after rehabilitation is completed. Individuals live with others who are also in phase three of their treatment. Life-long sobriety is a shared goal.
Typically, people can require more than the minimum 30 days of detox to fully recover and develop long lasting lifestyle habits that are healthy and substance free. The unique Residential Outpatient living spaces at Maryland Recovery provide a balance of privacy, safety, comfort and accountability to all the individuals in the program. Household chores and meal preparation duties are shared responsibilities in the gender separate residences. Feelings and experiences are shared among the individuals in a spirit of camaraderie.
All three phases integrate holistic treatment, including a strong spiritual component through meditation and drumming and exercise through yoga, fitness training and outdoor activities such as hiking. This holistic approach can successfully engender a spirit of calm and control over the recovering individual's emotions and thoughts. Shared living experiences encourage a bonding that aids each individual in his or her own recovery.
While many health insurances do not pay for programs that extend beyond a more traditional thirty days of detox, many providers will pay for the longer program through Maryland Recovery. This program can prove to be a more convenient and cost-effective option for recovering individuals. Major providers include Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Cigna, MAGELLAN and others.
