MDOL Selects Secure Exchange Solutions for Integrated Secure Messaging
Rockville, MD (PRWEB) April 24, 2014 -- MD On-Line, Inc. (MDOL), a leading provider of data-driven healthcare solutions that improve practice efficiency and enhance patient care, has selected Secure Exchange Solutions (SES) as their Health Information Service Provider (HISP) to offer providers MDOLDirect, an integrated secure messaging solution.
With SES Connect, MDOL further expands its already broad connectivity, linking over 85,000 providers with more than 2,200 insurance plans and thousands of pharmacies and patients nationwide. MDOL customers now have access to the convenience and cost savings of electronic messaging to providers both in and outside the expansive MDOL network, enabling the instant exchange of CCDs, referrals, preoperative notes, patient histories and more.
“MDOL is a known innovator whose products are designed to close the gaps in communication between members of the entire healthcare community,” said Dan Kazzaz, CEO of Secure Exchange Solutions. “SES Connect offers a seamlessly integrated messaging system that matches MDOL’s model of maximized connectivity and interoperability.”
For MDOL’s Electronic Medical Record (EMR) clients, the addition of the SES Connect Direct messaging system is a crucial part of Meaningful Use Stage 2, enabling them to meet requirements for sending and receiving summary of care documents.
“With the industry’s renewed focus on compliance, it’s imperative that we equip our providers with the knowledge and tools required to fall in line with all of these new regulations,” said Rich Goldstein, MDOL VP Medical Affairs. “Many of our providers are not even aware that their current method of sending PHI could be making them vulnerable to a security breach—and it’s our job to educate them. MDOLDirect is another weapon in our arsenal to help our providers remain on the right side of the law and take advantage of the incentives available to them.”
SES Connect is compliant with the Nationwide Health Information Network (NwHIN) Direct protocol; unlike regular email systems, messages sent through the MDOLDirect solution are secure and fully-compliant with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
MDOL will begin offering this solution to both existing customers and other healthcare professionals in summer 2014.
