Mediation.com Adds Family Law Practitioner Milena Christopher to Its Expanding Network of ADR Professionals
Dripping Springs, TX (PRWEB) May 27, 2014 -- Family Law and Mediation professional Milena Christopher has recently joined Mediation.com, the world’s leading online network of alternative dispute resolution professionals. With more than 20 years of experience in family law, she firmly believes that alternative methods, such as mediation and collaborative law, are often more successful and provide a better forum for the resolution of family legal issues, as well as other legal matters.
“My years of experience in helping family members navigate the waters of legal disputes has provided me with insight on managing cases that go to trial, as well as cases that have been successfully resolved outside of the courtroom. In collaborative law and mediation, the focus changes from who is at fault to how to solve the problem,” said Milena.
Milena’s practice has assisted clients with issues in divorce, adoption, custody and visitation, wills, probate and estate administration, among others. In her years of service, she has negotiated hundreds of disputes through to successful resolution.
Ms. Christopher’s leadership experience includes owning the largest female-managed law practice in Fort Lauderdale and managing a staff of 26 employees. She has also served on several Boards of Directors for nonprofit organizations, such as the Texas Association of Mediators, the Hays County Dispute Resolution Center, as well as being on the boards of the local women’s club and the local radio station. Milena served for eight years on the Board of the Hays Caldwell Women’s Center (HCWC), three years as President of their Board of Directors; HCWC presented Milena with the prestigious honor of being their “Volunteer of the Year” in 2012.
In addition to her law degree, Ms. Christopher has a Master’s Degree in Psychology-Counseling, making her an ideal mediator (as well as an attorney for family law cases), in that she not only understands the legal issues of a case, but also has a deep understanding of the emotional issues faced in various types of disputes. She has achieved the level of Advanced Credentialed Mediator from the Texas Mediation Credentialing Association. In her free time, Milena gives back to her community by serving as a trainer for basic and family mediation programs, teaching Business Law, Wills and Estates and Alternative Dispute Resolution at Texas State University for their Master’s level paralegal program. Milena Christopher also routinely serves as a presenter of many different law topics for various groups, including the Annual Bench/Bar Meeting in her local community, and on local radio in the Austin area.
