Roanoke, Virginia (PRWEB) October 08, 2014 -- Member One Federal Credit Union, located in Roanoke, Virginia, was honored with the Perry F. Kendig Award during a ceremony at the home of Nancy Gray, President of Hollins University on September 30th, 2014. The Perry F. Kendig Award recognizes individuals and businesses that showcase an outstanding commitment to the support of excellence in the arts. It marks just the third time a financial institution has been selected since the award began in 1985. The credit union won in the category of Business Arts Supporter. Recipients of the award are judged based on three core dimensions: leadership contributions, patronage or financial support, and the overall body of work and involvement in the local arts community.
Member One has a deep commitment to the community and supports the arts in the area. The company has supported many organizations including the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra, the Taubman Museum, and the Roanoke Children’s Theater.
“We are extremely honored and humbled to win this award. We strongly believe in supporting our local arts and cultural programs. These organizations add significant value to our community and add to the overall quality of life in the valley,” said Frank Carter, President and CEO of Member One FCU.
