Menlo College Concludes Summer Concert Series with A Cappella Extravaganza
Atherton, CA (PRWEB) September 02, 2016 -- Menlo College announces the final performance of The Entrepreneurial Summer Concert Series, presented by NASDAQ Private Market, on Friday, September 9 starting at 5 p.m. The evening performers feature several A Cappella groups including Funderstruck, Business Casual and the Boomerang Quartet.
The concerts are free and open to the public and include food trucks, beverages from Devil’s Canyon Brewery, networking and fun giveaways. Guests should bring a chair or blanket to enjoy the concert on the Quad at Menlo College, 1000 El Camino Real, Atherton, CA 94027.
“Everyone in the Silicon Valley community and the Atherton and Menlo Park area is encouraged to join us for some great music,” said Richard A. Moran, President of Menlo College. “It’s a great opportunity for Menlo College to give back to the local community.”
Business Casual is a 6-person a cappella band based out of Palo Alto. Using only their voices, this young vocal group puts a fresh spin on vintage chart toppers and today’s hits. Winners of the 2015 SF regional Harmony Sweepstakes a cappella competition, Business Casual has performed throughout the Bay Area since 2012. They combine unexpected musical styles to produce fresh a cappella versions of vintage chart toppers and today’s hits.
The Boomerang Quartet will be kicking it old school with beautiful, melodic harmonies in the A Cappella tradition of the barbershop harmony with classic songs from the World War II era to the hits of the 1950s and 1960s. Funderstruck will also perform and one other group will be announced soon.
“NASDAQ Private Market is thrilled to be back for a second season, bringing the region’s start-up companies together to share their music and perform for their colleagues,” said Carine Schneider, President, Equity Solutions at NASDAQ Private Market.
In addition to Menlo College and NASDAQ Private Market, sponsors include CDW, Cisco, Dimension Data, Solarflare, Persimmon Marketing, Pacific Yachting and Sailing, Fourth and Heart, Business Rockstars, Clayton Design, and M. Kathleen Kelly.
