Miss America Gets a Shoe Named After Her
(PRWEB) August 19, 2014 -- From the moment Nina Davuluri was crowned Miss America, she was thrust into the limelight: first from the fact that she was crowned, second due to the racist cyber bullying Miss America experienced and, third because of her grace in handling the aforementioned. As the year went on, Nina became one of the most booked Miss Americas in history.
Nina’s fame has grown yet again with Tony Bowls/Mon Cheri’s announcement of a Miss America inspired shoe.
Tony Bowls, who is backed by Mon Cheri, announced in April his partnership with the Miss America Organization as the official evening gown designer of the pageant. Now, five months after the partnership agreement, Tony has announced that he has designed a shoe after the famed Miss America Nina Davuluri called "The Nina."
At Atlanta Market, Nina said, "I'm excited and honored to have the newest Tony Bowls shoe designed for pageants named in my honor."
The Nina is a nude high heel with a 6.25" heel and a 2" platform. When asked why he decided to design a 6.25" tall shoe in Nude, Tony responded, "This shoe is designed with the pageant girl in mind. Nude is the color worn most in pageantry. From evening gown to swimsuit to interview girls in all systems over all states contestants wear nude colored heels over any other color. As for the height, I've never met a pageant girl who didn't want to be taller and the 6.25" will give the legs a longer look in swimsuit and in the stature needed when walking in evening gown."
Tony further stated that the 2" platform was needed to help stabilize the 6.25" heel so that girls could be comfortable walking on the stage, on stairs and out on the town. To order The Nina shoe, find a retailer nearest you at TonyBowls.com.
