MOAA Announces New Chairman and 11 New Board Members
(PRWEB) December 13, 2016 -- Retired Marine Corps Gen. John J. “Jack” Sheehan has been elected chair of the board of directors of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), the nation's largest officer’s association, with more than 355,000 members from each branch of service, including active duty, retired, National Guard, Reserve, and former officers and their families and survivors.
Sheehan, a senior vice president with Bechtel Industries, has served on the MOAA board since 2012. The 11 leaders listed below were elected to the association's 36-member board during MOAA’s annual meeting Oct. 25 in Arlington, Va.
- Rear Adm. Robert E. Day Jr., USCG (Ret) — graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn., and former Coast Guard chief information officer and commander, Coast Guard Cyber Command
- Col. Jeri I. Graham, USA (Ret) — former Army nurse with leadership positions at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, North Atlantic Regional Medical Command, and General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital; served as president of both the North Carolina Council of Chapters and the Southeastern N.C. Chapter
- Brig. Gen. Allison A. Hickey, USAF (Ret) — president and CEO of All Solutions LLC, former undersecretary of benefits at the Department of Veterans Affairs, and graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo.
- Capt. Matthew W. Kuskie, USA (Ret) — director in both the investment banking and capital market groups at Drexel Hamilton and graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y.
- Col. Mary J. Mayer, USAF (Ret) — former commander, Defense Contracting Agency, Northrop Grumman and four-year gubernatorial appointee to the Advisory Committee to the Oregon Department of Veterans’ Affairs
- Capt. C. Andrew McCawley, USN (Ret) — president and CEO of the New England Center and Home for Veterans and graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.
- Lt. Gen. John F. Regni, USAF (Ret) — graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo., former superintendent of the U.S. Air Force Academy and director, personnel resources, headquarters, U.S. Air Force
- Lt. Col. Ernest E. Robinson, USMCR — director of external affairs, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and graduate from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.
- Lt. Col. Walter J. Smiley, USA — chief of operations, Rapid Equipping Force, Fort Belvoir, Va.
- Capt. Peter Troedsson, USCG (Ret) — deputy city manager, chief operating officer, city of Bothell, Wash.
- Rear Adm. Garry R. White, USN (Ret) — president of Excelsior Enterprises of Boston; former commanding officer, USS George Washington (CVN-73); and commander, Strike Force Training Atlantic
Every two years, MOAA elects 12 new directors who will serve a six-year term on the board. A twelfth member will be named and added to the newly elected board class in early 2017.
