Modjeski and Masters Opens New Western PA Office
Mechanicsburg, PA (PRWEB) December 09, 2014 -- Modjeski and Masters announces it has opened a new regional office in Lemont Furnace, Pa. The office will serve the Pittsburgh area along with the rest of Western Pennsylvania. The office is Modjeski’s 10th and marks continued expansion for the Mechanicsburg, Pa.-based firm.
“This new office strengthens our commitment to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and many regional clients,” said Michael F. Britt, PE, senior vice president and director of business development at Modjeski and Masters. “Modjeksi takes pride in our work and how it connects communities. We look forward to continuing to provide lifecycle bridge engineering services to our clients. But equally important, with an office in Western Pennsylvania, we can work, connect and foster stronger relationships with the communities our clients serve. We can help build a stronger and better Pennsylvania.”
Modjeski recently completed a full rehabilitation on the Donald R. Lobaugh Bridge in Freeport, Pa., approximately 25 miles northeast of Pittsburgh. Emergency repairs designed by Modjeski engineers kept the bridge from closing. This prevented a long, and potentially costly, 20-mile detour for large vehicles, such as emergency vehicles, school buses and commercial trucks. The full bridge rehabilitation will greatly increase the service life of the bridge, benefiting the local community. It will also decrease maintenance costs, benefitting PennDOT.
“It’s these types of projects that make a major difference for local communities and tax payers across the state,” continued Britt. “It’s no secret that Pennsylvania’s infrastructure can be improved. We’re now in a better position to partner in that effort.”
