Monstrous Garage Condos Coming to Palm Springs Late This Summer
PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (PRWEB) May 02, 2018 -- While strong RV sales have fueled a demand for RV storage facilities, skyrocketing real estate prices limit rental spaces, as many campers are discovering, the price for RV ownership may include buying a home for the home away from home. Not only are RV owners being effected, but so a owners of smaller recreational vehicles, such as off road vehicles, boats, and car collections. They simply don't have the room to store all of their big boys toys.
Art Linkletter, the father of the self storage concept, years ago made a fortune renting small storage spaces, spawning the current mega self storage industry. It was his doing that made this industry possible. To this day, there is one thing missing from the self storage mix - large units. The bread and butter of the industry are the 5' x 10's and 10' x 10's that commanded high per square foot rental rates. Ignored were the needs of the RV owner, as larger units could not support the higher rental rates of the smaller units. So, there was a gap in the market for units larger than a garage, but smaller than a warehouse. Enter Garage Condominiums.
David Gandolfo, the head Monster at Monstore Garages in Palm Springs recognized this gap in the market and began construction of 45 individually owned Garage Condominiums last year. Dave said, "I am an avid off road and RV enthusiast, and I have a real problem finding suitable storage for my large vehicles". Dave continued, "It dawned on me that there was a better way, by building large garages and offering them for sale rather than renting them." As it turned out, he was right. The first phase of 15 units was sold out in a few hours on April 4th. Ted Deits, head of marketing said, "by noon on April 4th, one third of the project was sold out, and construction still has another 4 months to go." Deits continued, "half of the new buyers came from my recently completed garage condo project, Eucalyptus at Beaumont, all of which have enjoyed significant appreciation of their garages, as well as lower overall monthly costs vs. self storage rentals."
Deits said, "with the success of Eucalyptus at Beaumont, and the initial success at Monstore Garages, Palm Springs, we are slated to begin another 3 projects in other areas of California."
