Most Affordable Online Colleges List Released by AffordableCollegesOnline.org
SAN FRANCISCO (PRWEB) February 07, 2018 -- Higher education resource AffordableCollegesOnline.org has published its definitive ranking of the most affordable online colleges in the U.S. for 2018. Of the four-year institutions ranked, the top five schools include The University of Alabama, University of Virginia-Main Campus, Jackson State University, Northern Arizona University and Mississippi State University. The highest ranked among two-year institutions were East Mississippi Community College, Western Texas College, Western Wyoming Community College, Arizona Western College and Allen County Community College.
“We believe the best colleges offer affordability without sacrificing quality,” said Dan Schuessler, CEO and Founder of AffordableCollegesOnline.org. “A few of the factors we considered when rankings these schools include the scope of each college’s online offerings and the opportunities provided for student success like direct financial aid and career counseling.”
In order to meet the basic requirements for the Most Affordable Online Colleges list, schools must be accredited, public or private, not-for-profit institutions. Colleges and universities with four-year degree programs must offer a minimum of three online bachelor’s or master’s degree programs, while two-year institutions are required to offer at least three online associates-level degree or certificate programs. Factors that are weighed include annual in-state tuition, student-teacher ratio, and the availability of job placement services.
