Music City to Roll Out the Red Carpet for the 27th International Tour Management Institute (ITMI) Symposium and Reunion
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) July 11, 2013 -- The International Tour Management Institute (ITMI), America’s premier training and certification program for professional tour directors and guides has chosen Nashville, “Music City” as the host city for its 27th annual Symposium and Reunion to be held January 26 - 30, 2014. The Renaissance Nashville Hotel, located in the heart of Music City, has been designated as the venue for this one of a kind event.
The ITMI Symposium is a unique tourism industry conference that brings together key players in interactive seminars. Tour operators, suppliers, DMO’s and other tourism industry stakeholders have a unique opportunity to learn from one another by including the critical input from professional tour directors and guides.
“Tour directors possess a first-hand understanding of tour itineraries and attractions and how they are perceived by travellers,” states Ted Bravos, CEO of ITMI. “The dialog between tour directors, tour operators and DMO’s is unique to this annual event. The market intelligence they offer tour operators and suppliers is invaluable in ensuring future customer satisfaction and repeat business. We are excited to showcase Nashville and the surrounding area, with its rich music history and culture to Symposium attendees.”
“I am looking forward to the opportunity to showcase Nashville to such an influential group of tour operators and tour directors,” said Butch Spyridon, President and CEO of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp. “We plan to not only host a stellar conference for them, but we are also organizing some unique, experiential sightseeing tours before and after the conference to give attendees a chance to experience what makes Music City a great destination for tour groups.”
Another highlight of ITMI’s Symposium is the “marketplace,” where leading tour operators, suppliers and meeting and event planners can interview and hire professional tour directors, guides and travel staff for forthcoming tours, events and cruises. The ITMI Symposium attracts leading domestic and international tour operators such as Smithsonian Student Travel, Tauck World Discovery, Globus Family of Brands, Collette Vacations, Princess and Holland America Cruise lines, Adventures by Disney, Destination America and WorldStrides.
