Broomfield, Colorado (PRWEB) May 09, 2014 -- MWH Global, the global wet infrastructure sector leader and provider of strategic consulting, technical engineering environmental and construction services, today announced that six employees have been promoted to the position of vice president and one has been promoted to senior vice president.
The promotions were confirmed by the MWH board of directors at the March board meeting.

The seven promoted employees include:
Nancy Barnes, vice president and senior project manager – Nancy Barnes has more than 25 years of industry experience and has spent 23 years of her career at MWH. As part of the firm’s Walnut Creek-based team, she is instrumental in forging key client relationships, managing large-scale projects and guiding the firm’s financial performance in California. Barnes is a registered professional geologist, a certified engineering geologist, and a certified hydrogeologist in California. She holds a bachelor’s degree in geology from Humboldt State University, and is based in Walnut Creek, Calif.
Roy C. Fazio, vice president and MWH Constructors district director – Roy Fazio has more than 20 years of experience in the water engineering industry, and recently rejoined MWH Constructors after a stint with AECOM as construction operations director for North America. He is responsible for overall strategy and program oversight throughout MWH Constructors’ operations in the western U.S., including integrated project delivery, construction execution and resource deployment. Fazio earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from State University of New York at Buffalo, and a master’s degree in engineering management from George Washington University. He is also a licensed attorney in Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C. Fazio is based in Broomfield, Colo.
Julie Labonte, vice president and director of program management – Julie Labonte has more than 25 years of utility engineering experience in the private and public sectors, and currently serves as director of program management. Prior to joining MWH, she was the director of the San Francisco Public Utility Commission’s Water System Improvement Program, the largest wet infrastructure program ever undertaken by the City and County of San Francisco and one of the largest water programs in North America. Labonte was named the 2013 Government Civil Engineer of the Year by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). She holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from U.S. International University in San Diego, and master’s degrees in civil engineering from San Diego State University and environmental engineering from the University of California at Berkeley. She is based in San Francisco, Calif.
Michael Manwaring, vice president and dams and hydropower business development sector leader for North America – Michael Manwaring has nearly 20 years of technical, business development and project management experience, and is focused on strategic growth and building the firm’s reputation as a global leader in dams and hydropower. Prior to joining MWH in August 2013, he served as national marketing director for HDR’s hydropower division. Manwaring holds a professional geologist license in California, and currently serves in leadership roles with the National Hydropower Association and the Northwest Hydroelectric Association. He has a bachelor’s degree in geology from the State University of New York at Fredonia, and a master’s degree in engineering geology from Kent State University. He is based in Bellevue, Wash.
James Obermeyer, senior vice president and client service manager – James (Jim) Obermeyer is a globally recognized technical expert on geotechnical issues, tailing storage facilities and water dams. He joined MWH in 2004 and has led the strategic growth in Peru, Chile and the U.S. by assembling top talent, applying industry-leading business principles and technical expertise. Obermeyer also owns some of the firm’s key relationships with mining industry clients. He has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Doane College and a master’s degree in civil engineering with a focus on geotechnical engineering from Columbia University in New York City. He is based in Denver, Colo.
John Parry, vice president and business development manager – John Parry joined MWH in January 2011 as marketing leader for Middle East operations and has more than 20 years of marketing experience with a focus on international projects. Parry leads the MWH/Worley Parson joint venture work in the U.K. He based in Warrington, U.K.
Robert Schramm, vice president and risk manager for MWH Constructors – Robert Schramm has more than 25 years of experience in all areas of design and construction management, including planning, cost and schedule control, procurement, financial management, commissioning, cost control, procurement change control, and claims management. Schramm holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Grove City College and a master’s degree in industrial administration from Carnegie Mellon University. He is based in Colorado Springs, Colo.
