NADN Completes Largest Ever National ADR Survey
West Palm Beach, FL (PRWEB) January 29, 2014 -- The National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals, the premier association for experienced civil mediators and arbitrators, has completed an extensive survey of litigators, in cooperation with its partner organizations - DRI, the largest professional association for members of the defense bar, and the AAJ, the world’s largest association of trial lawyers.
NADN is the exclusive vetting agency for these associations, providing DRI and AAJ members access to the biographies and calendars of over 850 tightly-vetted mediators and arbitrators nationally. NADN’s Neutral Database has been tailored to fit the respective needs of these defense and plaintiff lawyers organizations, and is the engine behind the DRI Neutral Database (http://www.DRI.org/neutrals) and AAJ Neutral Database (http://www.Justice.org/neutrals), available to these association members only. NADN’s free Neutral Database (http://www.NADN.org) allow litigators to search by state, type of civil dispute, ADR practice expertise and other important criteria. Membership to NADN is by invitation only, limited to those mediators and arbitrators most widely acceptable to local defense and plaintiff attorneys in each state.
From September 2013 to January 2014, in cooperation with these associations, NADN reached out to more than 12,000 individual litigators, all of whom are members of DRI or AAJ. NADN asked these attorneys to review the current state rosters, expressing preferences for any already-inducted mediators/arbitrators. Importantly, NADN also requested that respondents advise as to any individual ADR practitioners who might be perceived as missing from the current cream-of-the-crop lineup.
NADN was delighted to receive online survey responses from over 30% of those defense and plaintiff counsel contacted - an overwhelming response rate, and by far the largest such study of this kind in the legal sector. Commencing February 2014, NADN intends to reach out to those ADR practitioners that received sufficient favorable mentions from both the local plaintiff and defense bar associations for each state. All such nominees will then be vetted, via peer-review and client-interviews, to ensure that they do in fact meet the strict practice requirements for consideration to the national NADN roster.
“We are delighted and honored to partner with both the DRI and AAJ in providing defense and plaintiff firms access to detailed biographies for the nation’s top mediators and arbitrators,” said Darren Lee, Executive Director of NADN. “This bi-annual survey effort allows NADN to ensure that only the most widely-acceptable neutrals make the cut for any particular state. We were optimistic that we might see 10% or more attorneys fill in the online survey, but the level of response was much greater - proving that litigators on both sides of the table are enthusiastic about this free online resource.”
