NCPDP Foundation Receives $1,000,000 Endowment
Scottsdale, Arizona (PRWEB) May 19, 2016 -- NCPDP Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization that is affiliated with NCPDP, announced that it has received a $1,000,000 endowment from NCPDP in honor of NCPDP President, Lee Ann Stember. The endowment memorializes Stember’s 35th anniversary at NCPDP. Under Stember’s leadership, NCPDP has led the transformation of the pharmacy services sector and expanded its role from a standards development organization into a problem solving forum for healthcare industry and patient safety issues.
The $1,000,000 endowment was announced this month at Stember’s President’s Leadership Appreciation Dinner, an event at which Stember pays special tribute to members of the NCPDP Board of Trustees, its outgoing Chair, member leaders and staff. When NCPDP Board members surprised Stember with the endowment, which is named in her honor, the room erupted in applause.
“I am extremely honored and humbled by this extraordinary gift,” stated Lee Ann Stember. “At NCPDP we have created both a forum and process for positive and sustainable change in healthcare. The NCPDP Foundation is an extension of our stewardship, supporting research, education and charitable involvement within the healthcare industry. I am proud to serve both NCPDP and NCPDP Foundation today and for many more years to come.”
Stember has served as President of NCPDP since 1981. She has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the NCPDP Foundation since its inception in 2012.
