New Accredited Vet Tech Program Available at Vatterott College in Fairview Heights
Fairview Heights, IL (PRWEB) September 21, 2013 -- Vatterott College announces the addition of the new Veterinary Technician program at its Fairview Heights, IL, campus, located at 110 Commercial Lane. This accredited program will prepare students with essential skills to pursue employment as veterinary technicians.
The Veterinary Technician program is designed to introduce students to the veterinarian field through comprehensive and practical experience. In the classroom, students will complete 118 total credits over 90 weeks. Courses ranging from Pharmacology to Microbiology target skills like handling and restraint of animal patients, nursing care, veterinary office procedures and more. Hands-on experience is then gained through an externship with an area veterinarian facility. Students who wish to work as an entry-level Veterinary Technician can earn an Associates of Applied Science degree after satisfactorily completing 11.5 quarter credit hour externship and meeting school graduation requirements.
