New App Puts Cutting-Edge Twist on the Alarm Clock
New Orleans, LA (PRWEB) September 18, 2014 -- UHP Alarm Clock is the world’s latest crazy app idea. UHP, developed by BeauxApps • Apps for Humans, uses the iPhone’s vast array of sensors in a way never before implemented on an iPhone. UHP’s “path tracking” feature keeps the alarm from turning off until the user is physically out of bed and at the coffee maker (or toothbrush, or someplace else as important).
UHP boasts another feature to wrest its users from under their covers. UHP’s “Social Media Accountability” feature threatens to notify users' social networks when they oversleep.
It works like this: the user “teaches” UHP the path he or she will take in the morning immediately upon waking by walking from the bed to the disarm location. The next morning at the alarm time, the tone sounds, and the alarm cannot be disarmed until the user has walked that path again. If you don’t reach your destination and “Social Media Accountability” is enabled, UHP will post the message the user sets to Facebook or Twitter (or both). Nothing like a little social pressure to get one's feet on the floor before that early morning flight or final exam.
UHP was built for chronic “snoozers” in mind and allows users to set a hard limit on the number of “snoozes” allowed.
UHP does not rely on methods of tracking movement common to other apps. UHP is meant to be used indoors where GPS systems are neither reliable nor fine-grained enough to track movement precisely. To achieve indoor location tracking, BeauxApps developed and tested months the proprietary "Path Tracking" algorithms used in UHP. These algorithms do employ GPS for rough location estimates but primarily rely on the iPhone’s other sensors to determine a user’s location. Neither BeauxApps nor UHP stores any information about users’ paths.
UHP Alarm Clock Pro is available on the App Store for an introductory price of $1.99. UHP Alarm Clock is designed for iPhone and iPod touch. A “freemium” version will be released in October 2014, and an Android version is in development. More information about UHP Alarm Clock Pro can be found at download.ios.uhpapp.com.
About BeauxApps | Apps for Humans
We didn't start out as developers who wanted to make a buck on the app store. Rather, we started normal folks drinking a (well, several) beer(s) and thinking just like everybody else, Hey, it’d be really cool if this [insert concept] were an app. Except we're actually making them. And so we went out and learned a %^&*ton about app development and built UHP Alarm Clock. Apps for Humans, by humans. (And they’re good looking too...the apps, not so much the humans.) Oh, and they're built in New Orleans, which means they taste good. Seriously, try it. Take a bite of your phone.
