New Book to Beat The Autocomplete Truth
Toronto, Ontario (PRWEB) November 27, 2013 -- What started as a modest publicity campaign from UN Women, The Autocomplete Truth, sparked a global debate exposing the shocking truth behind the perception of females in society.
The campaign reveals just how pervasive discrimination against women is through the use of Google search suggestions. Autocomplete works via algorithms in order to anticipate what a user is looking for and is conditioned by others who have used the search feature in the past. Result such as "Women need to shut up," "Women need to grow up," and "Women need to know their place," appear as top suggestions when the term "Women need" is searched.
Lisa Dyble has long been a part of the effort to put a stop to this mentality. Following her belief that every woman has the innate ability to be great, Dyble created a non-profit, self-empowerment website to encourage other women to find their inner strength to achieve their goals.
"True empowerment, in my opinion, lies in giving someone the knowledge and the tools that will allow them to make their own informed choices about what is right for them," Dyble said.
In addition to her support site, Dyble continues to promote the importance of strong female initiatives in her new book, "Sleeping with the Enemy." Her main character personifies a feisty yet passionate role model for women through her spontaneous and bold attitude. Following the protagonist through a tumultuous love story, readers learn that change can be challenging but the reward is discovering their strength within to persevere.
