New Jersey Expands Simplifile E-Recording in Hunterdon County
HUNTERDON COUNTY, N.J. (PRWEB) February 26, 2014 -- New Jersey has added its newest electronic recording (e-recording) jurisdiction, Hunterdon County, providing customers with an easy to use, online document recording service called Simplifile.
Through Simplifile’s secure, web-based recording service, customers such as title companies, real estate lawyers, and banks, will be able to submit documents electronically to the clerk’s office for recording.
“We wanted to be able to join with other county clerks throughout the state that are currently providing a convenient, efficient, and paperless means of recording,” said Hunterdon County Clerk Mary Melfi. “E-Recording is better for the environment, faster, and there is less chance for error.”
Customers can also securely send payments to the county to cover recording fees electronically through Simplifile’s system using Automated Clearing House (ACH), eliminating the need to send checks through the mail.
“We currently only offer e-recording for mortgages but are hoping to expand our services very soon to include assignments, discharges, releases, lis pendens, notice of settlements, and UCCs,” Melfi said.
Melfi also recommended that customers visit their office website at http://www.co.hunterdon.nj.us/countyclerk.htm for the latest e-recording information from the clerk’s office.
“We’re excited to be working with the Hunterdon County Clerk’s office and to continue growing e-recording on the East Coast,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile. “It’s the fastest, most reliable way to record documents today.”
Hunterdon County is the 15th recording jurisdiction in New Jersey to adopt Simplifile’s e-recording service, joining more than 1,000 counties across the nation that are also e-recording with Simplifile.
