(PRWEB) January 08, 2014 -- New restaurant opens at Sugar Hill Estate
Sugar Hill Estate is now the place to go for an authentic taste of Italy on the Caribbean island of Barbados, as the island's newest restaurant brings a unique combination of delicious Italian cuisine, live entertainment and relaxed ambience to this west coast luxurious resort. Spago was unveiled at the Sugar Hill Estate clubhouse on 17th December and is now open to guests from 11am till 11pm, serving food and drink every day with live music once a week.
Spago Sugar Hill is run by husband-and-wife team Dietmar and Yvonne Casper-Richards, who set up their first restaurant on 2nd Street in Holetown in 2005. The restaurant’s extensive menu, subtle flavours and welcoming atmosphere was such a hit that two additional restaurants followed. Now there is a Spago with a magnificent setting and unbeatable panorama, at the exclusive Sugar Hill Estate. “Our new restaurant at Sugar Hill has a relaxed environment with beautiful views across the island and the Caribbean Sea,” says Yvonne.
The menu at Spago Sugar Hill will reflect the Estate's relaxed yet elegant ambience. Dishes have been carefully crafted to offer flavours from the Mediterranean and also celebrate fresh ingredients, such as bruschetta al pomodoro, (tomato-topped bruschetta), spaghetti alle vongole (clam spaghetti) and the signature Spago pizza, with pineapple, salami, onions, mushrooms and mozzarella. The majority of the plates on offer could have come straight out of a trattoria in Rome, but there few which nod to the restaurant’s tropical location, such as the insalata all’aragosta (lobster salad), linguine alla pescatora (seafood pasta) and pizza aragosta (a decadent lobster pizza).
