New Startup Helps Tech Professionals Find Jobs in Their Dream Countries
San Jose, CA (PRWEB) December 17, 2015 -- California-based startup, HackAbroad, launched today promising to help tech job seekers find jobs in their dream countries.
Previously, landing a tech job in a country where one wasn't a citizen proved to be a daunting task that involved searching through tens of thousands of job listings, only to find a few companies that would be willing to sponsor work visas.
While the number of employers willing to sponsor international employees has steadily risen over the years, there has been a lack of direct communication between these businesses and potential candidates.
HackAbroad co-founders, Eric Fung and Minh Nguyen, began the startup after Nguyen's cousin, a talented programmer, struggled to find a job in the US.
“Millions of people are moving out of their country each year, or wanting to, but they struggle to get hired internationally,” said Fung.
“The biggest obstacle is that most people require sponsorship. Tech companies do sponsor job candidates, but it takes way too many manual hours for job seekers to find these listings online. There's no central location, and major job sites like Monster and Indeed, just don't address this issue."
In recent years, both graduates and more seasoned tech professionals have become hot commodities and have many countries vying for their talent. By hiring foreign talent, tech companies are gaining new ideas and perspective that cater to the ever-changing technological landscape.
By combining their experiences at Oracle, Lockheed Martin, and various startups, Fung and Nguyen hope that introducing willing employers to potential employees will bridge the gap in global talent and introduce a well-rounded approach to the tech sector.
"We believe moving abroad should be a lifetime experience, and the foundation of it begins with your career," said Fung.
"We're helping to jumpstart it."
