New Views on the Scientific Nature of Time
Minneapolis, Minnesota (PRWEB) August 14, 2013 -- The science of time is a concept that most people do not think about. Author and Physicist Louis A. Del Monte helps break down the true nature of time in his latest YouTube webisode series, “The Science of Time.”
In a three-part series, Del Monte explains:
• There is no widely accepted definition of time.
• Del Monte traces the scientific view of time starting with Galileo's publication in 1638, Discorsi e Dimostrazioni Matematiche (Discussions on Uniform Motion), in which Galileo defined time to be an absolute (Galilean transformation).
• Next, Del Monte discusses Isaac Newton's publication, in 1687, Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica (Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy), in which Newton uses the Galilean transformation as a foundation to assert his three laws of motion (Newtonian mechanics) and his law of gravity.
• Finally, Del Monte discusses Einstein's view of time (i.e., time is relative), as described in his 1905 publication of the theory of special relativity.
