Nextgov Powers its Cybersecurity App with Cyber Risk Intelligence from SurfWatch Labs
Sterling, VA (PRWEB) July 22, 2014 -- SurfWatch Labs, a provider of cyber risk intelligence solutions, announced that its security analytics content is being used to power the Nextgov Cybersecurity app, available in the iTunes store.
Nextgov is the information resource for federal technology decision makers and part of the Atlantic Media Company and its Cybersecurity app provides a snapshot of current government threat levels, delivers alerts on data breaches, and streams news and commentary on the latest development for protecting critical networks and information.
A key component of the Nextgov Cybersecurity App is the Threat Level rating, which is based on data from HackSurfer, a cybercrime news and information hub owned and managed by SurfWatch Labs, and includes a trend graph with threat levels from the previous week for various sectors.
“The threat level data from SurfWatch Labs provides our subscribers with an immediate understanding of the current cyber risk levels and trends for the government sector as well as other industries,” said Camille Tuutti, Nextgov Executive Editor. “This is a critical component of our Cybersecurity app.”
The threat level information found on HackSurfer and in the NextGov Cybersecurity app is based on a deeper set of cyber risk information from SurfWatch Analytics, a comprehensive data warehouse and analytics engine. SurfWatch Analytics aggregates and standardizes volumes of structured and unstructured cyber data from a myriad of sources, and drives advanced business intelligence analysis of security information to answer questions such as “What risks should my business worry about most?”
“The Nextgov Cybersecurity App is an excellent example of how SurfWatch content can add significant value and easily be integrated with any IT environment or application,” said Jason Polancich, Founder and Chief Architect, SurfWatch Labs. “This business intelligence approach to cybersecurity helps connect the dots between outside risks and your business domain – all in a manner that is easy to understand by anyone from the IT and security professional to the C-Suite.”
SurfWatch Analytics is available through:
• SurfWatch Analytics API, an easy-to-access data feed that allows IT and security professionals to seamlessly integrate highly relevant, real-time cyber risk information to power cyber defense applications, business intelligence applications, third-party products and OEM integrations.
• SurfWatch Cyber Risk Reports which provide C-Suite and board members with monthly insights and analysis on cybersecurity trends across the most active industries.
