Ob Hospitalist Group Selects PatientKeeper Charge Capture Software
Waltham, MA (PRWEB) November 17, 2014 -- PatientKeeper®, Inc., a leading provider of healthcare applications for physicians, today announced that Ob Hospitalist Group (OBHG), the largest dedicated OB/GYN hospitalist provider in the nation, has selected PatientKeeper Charge Capture™ software to streamline professional charge capture for its physicians, who serve more than 75 partner hospitals in over 20 states.
PatientKeeper Charge Capture software provides an ICD-10 ready automated billing workflow that easily fits a clinician's work style. PatientKeeper’s highly configurable system supports workflows in a wide array of care settings and specialties. The software offers flexible access on PCs, laptops, smartphones and tablets, and comes with Intelligent Medical Objects (IMO) so physicians can enter their charges with familiar, clinician-friendly words and phrases rather than obscure billing terminology.
OBHG also will use a highly customized version of PatientKeeper PQRS integrated with the charge capture solution to record quality metrics.
OBHG plans to deploy PatientKeeper Charge Capture on tablets so physicians can easily enter their charges wherever is most convenient for them. The organization expects to complete rolling out PatientKeeper to its team of about 300 physicians in the first quarter of 2015.
“We view PatientKeeper as a means to improve physicians’ work process so they can spend more time caring for patients, consistent with OBHG’s mission to elevate the quality and safety of women’s healthcare,” Tama LeBlanc, Vice President of Information & Technology at OBHG, said. “Our clinical leaders were impressed with how intuitive PatientKeeper is to use. We are confident PatientKeeper will enhance our revenue cycle by streamlining the billing process, ensuring more accurate charges, and reducing charge lag days.”
OBHG is transitioning to PatientKeeper from a paper-based charge capture methodology. PatientKeeper will receive an automated ADT feed from, and send charges back to, OBHG’s McKesson MMIS billing system, creating a completely electronic billing workflow.
“We are pleased that OBHG, an innovative leader in its field, has chosen to partner with PatientKeeper,” Paul Brient, PatientKeeper’s CEO, said. “OBHG is a perfect example of a highly mobile specialty practice that can reap many benefits from our solution.”
