Omnivere Announces Revised Privacy Policy and GDPR Compliance Measures
CHICAGO (PRWEB) June 14, 2018 -- Omnivere, an ISO 27001-certified company, announced today the completion of a series of updates to its policies and procedures to better comply with the new data protection regulations that recently came into effect in the European Union. These updates provide for enhanced compliance with new regulations and provide better transparency to our business partners and clients as to our data privacy safeguards.
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a new EU law governing personal privacy online. The regulation defines rules for what, how, when and for how long Personal Data can be collected and stored. In addition, it has provisions requiring that companies disclose what Personal Data it has collected and provide users with a way to have the data removed from a company’s systems. Lastly, it requires that companies get consent before sharing data (including tracking data) with any third parties.
“The GDPR is a step forward in safeguarding personal online data privacy,” said Omnivere CEO, Tony Caputo. “As an ISO 27001-certified company, Omnivere has always held high standards for data protection, and these new regulations are a welcome development that strengthens our position as a leader in data risk management and eDiscovery.”
Omnivere’s GDPR compliance efforts come with an updated version of the Omnivere Privacy Policy and a new cookie preferences panel on their website. More changes may be forthcoming as an additional EU regulation, the ePrivacy Regulation, is expected to be implemented sometime in 2019.
