Ostendorf-Morris Celebrates 75th Anniversary in 2014
Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) February 28, 2014 -- 2014 is a milestone year for Cleveland-based commercial real estate firm Ostendorf-Morris (http://www.ostendorf-morris.com). Exactly seventy-five years ago a deal was struck between the two men for which the company is named. In 1939 Edgar L. Ostendorf and Warren L. Morris combined their professional expertise, shared beliefs and ideals to form the full-service real estate firm that today provides global transaction management and consulting to Fortune 1000 and middle market clients.
In 1939, when the real estate partnership between Ostendorf and Morris was sealed, Cleveland was just opening itself up to the world. In October of that year, traffic crossed the city’s Main Avenue Bridge for the first time. Spurred by the vision of downtown growth and redevelopment that was taking place around them, Ostendorf-Morris was formed.
From the outset, the overarching vision behind Ostendorf-Morris’s debut was to be a single firm specializing in various real estate disciplines. What the founders envisioned of their alliance was a one-stop shop that could meet the brokerage, property management, financial services and appraisal needs of the city – and ultimately the globe.
Seventy-five years later, Ostendorf’s and Morris’s shared vision is a clear-cut reality. Today, Ostendorf-Morris is recognized the world over as one of the largest full-service independent brokerage firm in Ohio. And one of the hallmarks of the company’s long-standing success is that as the world becomes more technologically advanced and global, the services offered continue to evolve and change with the times.
Over the course of its history, Ostendorf-Morris’s expertise in the areas of industrial brokerage, office brokerage, property management, financial services and development has helped clients seamlessly solve their real estate problems. The company has also witnessed a series of milestones over the past three-quarters of a century. Some of the highlights include management and exclusive leasing of the 406,000 sq. ft. Illuminating Building (1957); 683,000 sq. ft. of 100 Erieview Building (1964); land assembly for the Gateway Sports and Entertainment Complex, current home to the Cavaliers and Indians sports teams (1980s); The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company sale and leaseback redevelopment of 639,000 sq. ft. (2008); and, more recently, a joint venture with Corpus Sireo, Germany’s largest asset management company with $20 billion under management (2012).
“We’ve been around for a long time and we’ve accomplished many things, but we’re definitely not stuck in the past,” Ostendorf-Morris’s spokesperson points out. He goes on to give credit where credit is due. “We have deep appreciation for all those we have had the pleasure to work with over the years and who celebrate 75 years of prosperity and accomplishment with us. We wouldn’t be where we are today without them and we look forward to serving them for another 75 years.”
